The New England Fishery Management Council (NEFMC) and the Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council (MAFMC), in consultation with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, National Marine Fisheries Service, have prepared a 2025 Essential Fish Habitat (EFH) framework adjustment and an Omnibus Habitat Amendment, respectively, and intend to prepare additional actions for future EFH modifications every five years to multiple fishery management plans for several species found in the Atlantic Ocean. There are no anticipated negative effects from these actions because they are administrative in nature. These actions are subject to review for consistency with the enforceable policies of Maine Coastal Program under 15 CFR 930, subpart C.
