Building Safety Month Week 3 Video: Prepared to Protect

In honor of Building Safety Month, the Division of Building Codes and Standards at the Maine Office of Community Affairs is releasing a video every week through the month of May about improving building safety.

The theme for Week 3 of Building Safety Month 2026 is Prepared to Protect, encouraging community preparedness and highlighting how disaster-resilient building codes protect people and property.

In this video, Brian Ambrette, Director of the State Resilience Office, discusses the importance of building safety codes in attaining community resilience and how communities can ensure community preparedness and resilient structures.
