The Maine EMS Board has called an Emergency Board Meeting on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at 1:30 PM EST via ZOOM.
This meeting is virtual only.
Agenda (PDF)
As many of you are probably already intimately aware, the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention issued an emergency rule revision to their immunization rule on August 12, 2021 that added all Maine EMS-regulated entities (i.e., services, training centers, and EMD centers). However, it is important to note that this iteration of the rule only requires EMS entities to ensure compliance of their staff to COVID-19 vaccination, and not the other vaccines required for other healthcare professionals (e.g., measles, mumps, rubella, influenza, etc.). Maine EMS has drafted an Operational Bulletin (see below) that summarizes the changes and their potential implications to Maine EMS-licensed entities.
- Maine EMS Operations Bulletin Information Regarding Maine CDC's Emergency Rule on Immunization Requirements for Healthcare Workers (PDF) (8/15/21)
- Governor Mills news release
- Department of Health & Human Services Rules Website
- DHHS 10-144 Chapter 264: Immunization Requirements for Healthcare Workers (PDF) (8/15/21)
The operation bulletin can also be found on the Clinical and Operations Bulletin Page on the Maine EMS Website
