    The LRCC provides crisis care in a warm and welcoming environment in downtown Portland, providing an interim option between mobile crisis, law enforcement intervention, and the emergency department.

  • Metric Explanation: The total number of OPTIONS (Overdose Prevention Through Intensive Outreach, Naloxone, and Safety) encounters each month. 

    The number of encounters is not de-duplicated because we do not currently collect identifying information to protect the nature of the OPTIONS relationship.

Maine Crisis Line (MCL) and 988 Answered Call Volumes – Aggregation: Sum

The two lines provide support for individuals or families experiencing a behavioral health crisis, including thoughts of suicide and/or self-harm.

Number of unique individuals admitted to Private Nonmedical Institutions (PNMIs) (PNMI Admissions) – Aggregation: Sum

  • Metric Explanation: The average number of unique individuals admitted to a PNMI (Private Nonmedical Institution) program across the three months corresponding to each quarter. PNMIs provide integral and intensive mental health treatment and rehabilitative services for people with mental illness.
    * Given the potential for overlap across months, quarterly and yearly metrics represent the average monthly figures within the same period.

Number of unique individuals served by the PNMI program (PNMI Census) – Aggregation: Average

  • Metric Explanation: The total number of unique individuals each month served by the PNMI (Private Nonmedical Institution) program, which provide integral and intensive mental health treatment and rehabilitative services for people with mental illness.

Number of Housing Resources Used – Aggregation: Average

  • Metric Explanation:Number of unique individuals and families that were housing vouchers across the three months corresponding to each quarter.

Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Treatment Admissions – Aggregation: Sum Aggregation: Average

  • Metric Explanation: The number of unique individuals that were reported to be admitted into substance use disorder (SUD) treatment in a quarter or year. Providers are supposed to enter their data in real time, but in some instances, there may be a delay in reporting.
