Notice of MaineCare Reimbursement Methodology Change

SERVICES INCLUDED: Chapter 101, MaineCare Benefits Manual, Section 97, Private Non-Medical Institution, Appendix D, Principles of Reimbursement for Children's Residential Care Facilities: Temporary High Intensity Services
NATURE OF PROPOSED CHANGES: The Department will amend reimbursement of Temporary High Intensity Services found in Section 97, Private Non-Medical Institution, Appendix D, Principles of Reimbursement for Children's Residential Care Facilities effective April 1, 2025. Reimbursement will be as follows:

REASON FOR PROPOSED CHANGES: All changes are pursuant to Title 22 M.R.S, §3173-J.
ESTIMATE OF ANY EXPECTED INCREASE OR DECREASE IN ANNUAL AGGREGATE EXPENDITURES: The Department anticipates that this change will cost $184,900 in federal fiscal year 2025 which includes $113,685 in federal funds and $71,215 in state funds, and will cost $739,600 in federal fiscal year 2026 which includes $449,150 in federal funds and $290,450 in state funds.
ACCESS TO PROPOSED CHANGES AND COMMENTS TO PROPOSED CHANGES: The public may review the proposed methodology changes and written comments at any Maine DHHS office in every Maine county. The Department will hold a hearing for the proposed rulemaking and will be publishing a notice which includes information on the hearing date and location.
