Maine CDC shares tips to prevent diseases spread by mosquito bites
AUGUSTA- - The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Maine CDC) announced today that mosquitoes in the Penobscot County town of Orono tested positive for Jamestown Canyon virus (JCV). This is the first mosquito pool in Maine to test positive this year for any virus transmitted by mosquitoes. There are currently no known human cases of JCV or any other locally-acquired mosquito-borne diseases in Maine this year.
The Delivery System Reform Unit (DSRU) will be holding a PCPlus Open Office Hour on Friday July 12, 2024 from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM. The purpose of the Open Office Hour is to provide an accessible online venue for PCPlus providers to hear about pertinent information and ask MaineCare questions you might have regarding the PCPlus program. One of the topics we will be highlighting during this discussion is the Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (EPSDT) Program for Children and Youth.

NATURE OF PROPOSED CHANGES: The Department plans to add reimbursement for Foster Care Comprehensive Health Assessments (CHAs) and amend existing reimbursement for Child Abuse Evaluations in accordance with the table below.
SFY25 Rate Letters for NFs and RCFs are now available on the secure Health PAS online portal. New rates are effective as of July 1, 2024.
Implementation of Rates
NF rates were implemented on June 26, 2024.
Specialty NF and RCF rates will be implemented by August 1, 2024.
