This bulletin provides notice that the Department initiated a Rate Determination Process* for the National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP) in the Spring of 2022, prior to P.L. 2021 Ch. 639 becoming effective. This is a new service that is under development, with the service’s placement within the appropriate section of the MaineCare Benefits Manual still to be determined. The Department will conduct this determination. This initiative is pursuant to P.L. 2021, Ch. 398, Sec.

The federal deadline to implement the EVV requirement for providers delivering Home Health services under Section 40 and Hospice Services under Section 43 is January 1, 2023.

The Division of Licensing & Certification (DLC) provides regulatory oversight of medical and long-term care facilities in Maine. This includes oversight of the CNA registry, criminal background checks for employers to ensure staff are safe to care for our vulnerable citizens, and investigations into allegations of unsafe practices/events in facilities as diverse as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and group homes.

With these EVV deadlines quickly approaching, we continue to offer weekly provider and aggregator trainings and forums. All trainings and forums are online via Microsoft Teams.
On Monday, November 7, 2022, Kepro upgraded their web-based platform to Atrezzo Next Generation. The Atrezzo Next Generation (ANG) platform is an improved interface with enhanced security features such as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). The original Atrezzo platform will be deactivated on March 1, 2023, at which time only the ANG platform will be active for use by providers.
The Department has released the Final MaineCare Rate Determination Schedule for Calendar Year (CY) 2023, as well as a letter from MaineCare Director Michelle Probert providing detail on the Department decisions on key priorities for the CY 2023 schedule.
