Contact Visitation
Please arrive in the lobby between 15 and 30 minutes prior to your scheduled visit to complete the check-in and screening process. Zoom Video Visitation
Zoom Visits at Maine Correctional Center will be ending, effective with the end of visits on Saturday, May 20, 2023. The last opportunity to schedule a Zoom Visit, as availability permits, will be on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. This correlates with the lifting of the federal Public Health Emergency on May 11, 2023.
As many are aware, MCC introduced Zoom Visits as a way to overcome challenges presented by COVID-19 in an attempt to continue to offer a level of meaningful communication between residents and their families and friends in lieu of contact (in-person) visits. Since that time, we have emerged from the pandemic and have returned to a full schedule of contact (in-person) visits in the visit room. We have also worked with our resident telephone vendor to ensure all residents have access to video visitation kiosks in each housing area to provide non-contact visits and as an alternative to travel. We have improved upon that initial pilot, which required scheduling of video visits, to a system that allows more convenient outbound video calls and software applications for both iPhone and Android operating systems, which has provided greater availability for all residents and their loved ones than the earlier pilot system.
Residents are encouraged to sign into the kiosks and visitors may check https://www.gettingout.com/ (facility ME_DOC Maine Correctional Center or ME_DOC Women’s Reentry Center) for more information about the video visit application offered by ViaPath.
Please contact us at MCC.VisitOffice@maine.gov if there are any questions.
All Visit Rules apply. Violation of any visit rule may result in termination of the visit and/or suspension of future visits.
