Secretary Dunlap to visit multiple polling places on Election Day

AUGUSTA – Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap, Maine’s top election official, will be visiting polling places throughout the day on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5, to observe the voting process and meet with local election officials.

The Referendum Election ballot features one bond issue and one Constitutional amendment. Several municipalities will also be casting ballots for local elected officials and making other important decisions, such as consideration of local bond issues. Sec. Dunlap will be available to speak to the press and public at each stop and throughout the day. His schedule will be as follows (times are approximate):

• 9:45 a.m.: Gray, Newbegin Gym, Henry Pennell Municipal Complex, 24 Main St.
• 10:15- 10:30 a.m.: Gorham, Gorham Middle School, 106 Weeks Road
• 10:45- 11:00 a.m.: Westbrook, Community Center, 426 Bridge Street
• 11:30 a.m.- 12 noon.: Portland, Merrill Auditorium Rehearsal Hall, 20 Myrtle St.
• 1:30-1:45 p.m..: Lewiston, Memorial Armory, 65 Central Ave.
• 4-4:15 p.m.: Augusta, Civic Center, 76 Community Drive
• 5:30-5:45 p.m.: Bangor, Cross Insurance Center, 515 Main St.
• 7 p.m.: Old Town, Elks Lodge, 37 Fourth St.

Polls open in most municipalities between 6-10 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Secretary Dunlap is encouraging all eligible voters to cast their ballots, reminding them that Election Day voter registration is an option in Maine. Voters can find their polling place and sample ballots via the State of Maine Voter Information Lookup Service.
