Secretary Dunlap to visit multiple polling places during Special Referendum Election

AUGUSTA – Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap, Maine’s top election official, will be visiting polling places throughout the day during the statewide Special Referendum Election, Tuesday, June 13.

Secretary Dunlap will be observing the voting process and meeting with local election officials during his visits. He will be at the polls for about 15-20 minutes at each location, and will be available to speak to the press at each stop and throughout the day.

His schedule will be as follows:

  • 7:30 a.m.: Old Town, Knights of Columbus Hall, 5 Gilman Falls Ave.
  • Noon: Portland, Merrill Auditorium Rehearsal Hall, 20 Myrtle St.
  • 1:30 p.m.: Auburn, City Hall, 60 Court St.
  • 2:15 p.m.: Greene, Town Hall, 220 Main St.
  • 5:30 p.m.: Bangor, Cross Insurance Center, 515 Main St.

Voters statewide will be casting ballots on local issues such as municipal and school budgets, as well as deciding on a statewide bond issue.

Polls are open in most municipalities beginning between 6-10 a.m. and polls close at 8 p.m. Confirm your polling place and hours using the Voter Information Lookup Service online. Secretary Dunlap is encouraging all eligible voters to cast their ballots, reminding them that Election Day voter registration is an option in Maine.
