FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE *Media Advisory*Secretary of State to Officiate Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for New Bureau of Motor Vehicles Branch Office in RumfordRUMFORD, ME - Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap will preside over a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 11:30am on Wednesday, September 3rd at the newest Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) Office located at 65 Lincoln Street in Rumford. Secretary Dunlap will be joined by Patty Morneault, Deputy Secretary of State for the BMV; Senator John Patrick of Rumford; Representative Sheryl Briggs of Mexico; Representative Matthew Peterson of Rumford and Town Manager John Madigan. The Rumford office replaced the branch previously located in Mexico. This new location will yield an average annual savings of 8% for the State of Maine over a 10 year period, said Secretary Dunlap. Our first priority is always to serve our customers effectively; being able to do so while cutting costs is a great accomplishment. The Rumford office has been open to the public since Monday, August 4, 2014 and has already received positive customer feedback in the first month of operation. |
