Commission to Study the Conduct of Elections in Maine To Hold Meeting To Begin Drafting Report
Augusta – The Commission to Study the Conduct of Elections in Maine will meet on December 21, 2012 at 9:00 am at the Secretary of State’s Office - Nash School, 103 Sewall Street, Augusta, to begin drafting their report to the Secretary of State.
The Commission, appointed by Secretary of State Charlie Summers, has been authorized to study Maine’s current election system in accordance with Resolve 2011, chapter 133.
The Secretary of State will submit the report, which will include the Commission’s findings and any recommended legislation for the 126th Legislature, to the Joint Standing Committee on Veterans and Legal Affairs no later than February 1, 2013.
Commission meetings are open to the public.
