Secretary of State Charles E. Summers, Jr. To Speak At the Vital Maine Communities Conference
AUGUSTA, Maine – Secretary of State Charles E. Summers, Jr. will be speaking at the Vital Maine Communities Conference organized by the Maine Development Foundation at the Kora Temple in Lewiston on Thursday, June 9th at 8:30 AM. Drawing on personal experiences, he will discuss the importance of preserving historic buildings and the benefits that can be realized by small business.
The conference will take place over two days in Lewiston and Skowhegan and will focus on the following two topics, Building Boom in a Recession and Making Maine’s Downtowns Work. It will feature educational sessions, opportunities for networking, tours of landmark buildings, sampling of local foods, a silent auction, as well as, Maine Preservation’s Honor Awards and Maine Downtown Center’s Annual Downtown Achievement Awards.
