Secretary of State Charles E. Summers, Jr. to Give Opening Remarks at Senior Driver Expo

WATERVILLE, Maine – Secretary of State Charlie Summers will give the opening remarks for the Senior Driver Expo presented by AAA of Northern New England and Spectrum Generations at the Muskie Community Center in Waterville at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 19, 2011.

The Senior Driver Expo is a day long event to promote resources available in Maine to help mature drivers and their families address senior mobility challenges and prolong their safe driving years.  The event will feature free hearing and vision screenings, brake reaction time testing, workshops and lectures about driver safety, and demonstrations of new automobile technology. 

A representative from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) will be giving a presentation on the license renewal process and licensing in relation to medical issues.  BMV personnel will also be on hand to address any questions or concerns.
