FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ***Media Advisory***Secretary of State Matt Dunlap to Determine Order of Ballot QuestionsAUGUSTA, MAINE – Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap is scheduled to determine the order of the bond questions that will appear on the November 2, 2010 General Election ballot through a public drawing on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in his office at the Nash School Building in Augusta. The Nash School is located at 103 Sewall Street. Maine law requires the drawing process for ballot position and also requires the questions to be organized on the ballot by category as follows: people's veto questions first, then citizen initiatives, followed by bond questions, referendum questions proposed by the Legislature, and finally, resolutions to amend the state Constitution. On the November ballot there will be one citizen initiative question and two bond questions. There are no people's veto questions, no Constitutional resolutions and no legislative referenda. Since there is only one citizen initiative, that question will be first on the ballot. Thursday's drawing will determine the order of the two bond questions.
