Attention Section 25, Dental Service Providers: Rate Determination Kickoff Meeting
Earlier this month, MaineCare provided notice that it had initiated a rate determination for Section 25 Dental Services, pursuant to P.L. 2021, Ch. 639. We will rebase the existing benchmarks, so they reflect the most recent data for the payer source.

AUGUSTA— The Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) encourages anyone affected by the violence in Lewiston to reach out and connect with behavioral health support. Incidents of mass violence can lead to a range of emotional reactions, including anxiety, fear, anger, despair, and a sense of helplessness that may begin immediately or in the days or weeks following the event.
Seek help immediately if you or someone you know is talking about suicide, feelings of hopelessness or unbearable pain, or about being a burden to others.

Tragedies may also cause people to turn to substance use, putting themselves and others at risk.

Opportunity Available for Section 19 Home and Community Based Services for Older and Disabled Adult Caregivers
The Office of Aging and Disability Services (OADS) is excited to announce a virtual training opportunity scheduled to begin October 26, 2023. National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Family-to-Family is a free, 8-session educational program for family, significant others, and friends of people with mental health conditions. It is a designated evidenced-based program. This means that research shows that the program significantly improves the coping and problem-solving abilities of the people closest to a person with a mental health condition.
10-144 C.M.R. Ch. 323, General Assistance Program Manual, Section IV - GA 25A - Recovery Residence Participation
The adopted rule updated the General Assistance (GA) Program Manual, Section IV to provide clarity and align this manual with Public Law 2023, Chapter 133.
10-144 C.M.R. Ch. 330, HOPE - Section 3, Rule 102A -Eligibility Criteria
The adopted rule change to Part 3 aligns with Public Law 2023 Chapter 2 and is consistent with 22 M.R.S. § 3790-A(2)(E) (2017), amended by P.L. 2023, ch. 21 to increase the income limit from 185% of the Federal Poverty Limit to 225% of the FPL. The adopted rule change expanded income eligibility.
