As previously announced, on November 8, 2023, the Office of MaineCare Services (OMS) formally adopted MBM, Chapter II, Section 71: NDPP Services.
Hospitals that are billing for services provided in Distinct Psychiatric units or Distinct SUD units with a service start date on or after July 1, 2023, should bill for services correctly to receive appropriate reimbursement.
In October of 2023, the Department began the annual process of establishing a Rate Determination Schedule for the coming calendar year (CY) 2024, pursuant to M.R.S. Title 22, §3173-J. In alignment with statute, the process consisted of public presentation and consultation with the Technical Advisory Panel (the TAP), which allowed for public comment. This was followed by a meeting with the Rate System Sub-Committee for discussion and advisement on the proposed schedule, and a written comment period for interested stakeholders. As Lyme cases reach record levels, ticks remain active
AUGUSTA – The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Maine CDC) encourages Maine residents and visitors to remain vigilant against tick bites this winter, as the number of Lyme disease cases continues to rise and ticks remain active above freezing temperatures.
The Maine CDC has reported a record number of Lyme disease cases so far in 2023, with 2,706 cases as of December 7, 2023. The Maine CDC has also reported a record five cases of Powassan in 2023.
