Farmer Application
General Requirements
To be considered for authorization as a WIC farmer. Farmer must meet the following criteria:
- Grow fruits or vegetables in the State of Maine.
- Provide at least 50% Maine grown fruits and vegetables and at least 50% produce that is fresh and not processed.
- If a farmer offers fruits or vegetables grown by another farmer, the produce must be clearly labeled as to the grower and location grown.
- The farmer’s sales location(s) must:
- have the produce protected from heat, sun, or other weather damage.
- be accessible to people with disabilities.
- have regular business hours during which the sales location is attended
- Comply with all requirements of the WIC EBT Contractor
- Register with WIC EBT Contractor
- Social Security Number
- Bank Name, Routing Number, Account Number
- A smartphone device with
- Android OS v5.0 or above or
- iPhone IOS v11.0 or later
- with cellular service or WIFI
- Register with WIC EBT Contractor
- Maintain compliance with the WIC Farmer Selection criteria throughout the Agreement period, including any changes to the criteria.
Farmer Application
Any Maine farmer may apply to become an authorized WIC farmer. There is no charge for application.
- Complete application by going in the Farmer Portal (button below). For instructions on the portal please see page 7 of the Farmer Training Guide.
- Participate in a WIC Farmer Training, Please call 207-287-3991 to register
- Sign and return WIC agreement to WIC office if you agree with all the WIC terms and FMNP Policies. (Provided after completion of Applcation and Training.)
- The first time you sign in you will need to create a new account.
- For current ME WIC Farmers to access your account use same email address on file with WIC program.

- Bank Name, Routing Number, Account Number
- Look for S3 Merchant Link Registration Completed email
- Download and Sign In to S3 Merchant Link App
