Nutrition Education

Good nutrition is one of the best gifts you can give your children – and yourself! Research shows that children who are well nourished do better in school, get sick less often, and are less prone to behavior problems.

The Maine CDC WIC Nutrition Program is committed to helping families reap these benefits. Every WIC appointment includes nutrition education to help parents and caregivers make the best possible decisions about feeding the next generation of Mainers.

WICSmart LogoThe WIC program is now offering WICSmart, a free nutrition education application. With this option, participants can take nutrition education online from their home computer or from their phone, limiting the number of visits to the WIC office. WICSmart is available to all participants; however, some participants will require a follow-up appointment. Please contact your local WIC staff to see if you qualify.
