AUGUSTA – The Maine Office of Marijuana Policy, a part of the Maine Department of Administrative and Financial Services, is pleased to announce that it has scheduled a kickoff event to introduce the State of Maine’s new marijuana track and trace system.
On Monday, September 16, 2019, OCP will host an introductory program at the Augusta Civic Center which will demonstrate BioTrackTHC, the technology to be used for tracking marijuana and marijuana products in Maine. The formal program is scheduled to begin at 9:00am and conclude at 11:30am. The physical address for the kickoff event is 72 Community Drive, Augusta, ME 04330, with ample parking available on-site.
The event, which is open to the public, is intended to provide medical marijuana program registrants, potential adult use marijuana licensees, and interested stakeholders with a high-level introduction and overview of the BioTrackTHC software. OCP Director Erik Gundersen will provide brief welcome remarks to attendees before turning the event over to representatives from BioTrackTHC. Following their demonstration, a brief question and answer session will be conducted.
The kick off will be followed by regional educational sessions that will provide in-depth training to existing caregivers, dispensaries, and their employees on the use of BioTrackTHC. October training sessions for potential adult use licensees will be announced at a later date.
In-person trainings will begin on Monday, September 16 and conclude on Friday, September 20. Training sessions will be held in Augusta, Bangor, Lewiston, and Portland. In addition, future online trainings will be made available in the form of webinars for program participants.
Due to space constraints, prospective attendees for the kickoff event are encouraged to register in advance. Advance registration is mandatory for stakeholders wishing to attend any of the training sessions. Registration is available through the Eventbrite event registration platform.
