Veterans in Maine have access to a variety of education benefits designed to support their academic and career goals. The GI Bill®, including the Post-9/11 GI Bill® and Montgomery GI Bill®, provides tuition assistance, housing stipends, and other financial support for eligible veterans pursuing higher education, vocational training, or certification programs.
Maine also offers state-specific education benefits, such as the Maine Veterans’ Dependents Educational Benefits Program, which provides a tuition waiver for eligible dependents at Maine’s public universities and community colleges. Additionally, veterans may qualify for Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) services, which help with education, training, and job placement for those with service-connected disabilities.
For more information and assistance with applying for education benefits, veterans can contact the Maine Bureau of Veterans' Services or visit their nearest Veterans’ Resource Center.
