The U.S. Department of Education announced on January 16, 2025 that it will delay implementation of involuntary collections on federal student loans, including Administrative Wage Garnishment and the Treasury Offset Program. Maine's Student Loan Ombuds can help borrowers resolve disputes with their loan servicer and make sure they are in compliance with the law.
