MSL Online Library Card Registration

You must be be a Maine resident to receive a library card.

Please choose one of the following:

1. I will use the library card only to access online databases.

2. I will use the library card to check out materials (database use included) at the State Library and University of Maine system libraries.

If you checked 1, circulation services will contact you the next business day and provide you with a database barcode access number. Your barcode access number is valid for 5 years. After that, you must call (207-287-5600) or email (circulation.msl@maine.gov) circulation services to maintain active status.

If you checked 2, your card will be activated when you pick it up at the Maine State Library. Cards are not mailed out. Please bring an ID with a valid current Maine mailing address.

Your card will be ready for you on the next business day at the Maine State Library. Cards will be held for 90 days.
