K9 Team Spotlight: Warden Kevin Pelkey and K9 Badger
Warden Kevin Pelkey began his career with the Maine Warden Service in 2007, patrolling the Mars Hill area. Warden Pelkey joined the K9 team in 2010 and began working with his K9 partner Badger.
K9 Badger is a 6 year old black labrador retriever with a happy disposition and strong drive to find people. He also loves other dogs and empty plastic water bottles! K9 Badger is certified in article search, tracking, hasty search, obedience and area search.
Warden Pelkey loves working with a K9 partner and says K9 Badger is a huge asset to his daily patrol, assisting him in efficiently uncovering evidence at a scene and also locating individuals who are missing in Maine's great outdoors.
