We’re kicking off the 2021 breeding season and 4th year of the Maine Bird Atlas with an evening volunteer extravaganza and you’re invited!
Completing the Maine Bird Atlas over the next two years will require careful planning and coordinating to ensure atlasing efforts are being done efficiently and effectively. During this evening presentation we’ll start with an atlas update and give a preview of what our final product will look like (using preliminary data). Then we’ll break into groups where atlas staff will work with beginner, intermediate, and expert atlasers to get the training and marching orders needed for the 2021 season. Spoiler alert: the priority is completing Priority Blocks.
