The Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) remains committed to improving operations to better serve and meet the needs of Maine people. A major component of these efforts is leveraging technologies to upgrade outdated systems, transition paper-based processes online, improve customer service, increase transparency, and inform data-driven policies and service delivery.
The Department has completed several major technology projects to improve access to services and benefits for Maine people, including:
This bulletin provides notice that the Department has initiated a Rate Determination Process* for Section 107 Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility Services of the MaineCare Benefits Manual. MaineCare’s Rate Setting Unit will be conducting this rate determination. The newly determined rates will update MaineCare reimbursement for this service to better align with reimbursement for related services, consistent with the Department’s reimbursement reform process.
In an October 12, 2022, announcement, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued Emergency Use Authorizations (EUA) for the use of Bivalent COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer BioN-Tech for ages five years and older, and Moderna for ages six years and older, as a booster dose
This bulletin provides notice that the Department has initiated a Rate Determination Process* for a new service, Foster Care Comprehensive Health Assessment, which is being added to Section 23 of the MaineCare Benefits Manual pursuant to P.L. 2019, Ch.162.
The Maine Department of Health and Human Services is pleased to invite you to provide input on a comprehensive statewide strategic plan to serve people in the State with behavioral health needs throughout their lifespans (LD 1262).

Good morning,
It has been over a month since the start of the DHHS Permanent Telework Policy on September 6. We are so grateful for everyone making this adjustment and showing grace in the process. We’ll continue to adapt our spaces, hybrid meeting recommendations, and other practices as we continue.
But we want to pause to say thank you: so far, so good.
Previously, MaineCare communicated 340B guidelines and providers were instructed to adjust claims that were billed incorrectly. Providers must ensure that service location enrollments are accurate according to their 340B status. This information must match the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) website.
MaineCare Services is pleased to announce we are accepting applications for participation in MaineCare’s Primary Care Plus (PCPlus) program. PCPlus is a MaineCare primary care model giving Primary Care Providers (PCPs) greater flexibility and incentives to meet MaineCare members’ healthcare needs by transitioning away from a volume-based (fee-for-service) payment system toward population-based payments tied to cost and quality-related outcomes. Participation in PCPlus is voluntary for PCPs and PCPs must apply to participate.
