Boosting Implementation of Maine’s Children’s Behavioral Health Plan

The U.S.-declared COVID-19 public health emergency is over, but some of its effects persist, including a heightened need for children’s behavioral health services. This is why Governor Mills’ “Part 2” biennial budget proposal, including the change package, requests nearly $20 million for the next biennium to accelerate and intensify implementation of Maine’s comprehensive children’s behavioral health plan. 

Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) Trainings and Forums

The federal deadline to implement the EVV requirements for Home Health providers delivering services under Section 40 and Hospice providers delivering services under Section 43 happened January 1, 2023.

We continue to offer weekly provider and aggregator trainings and forums. All trainings and forums are online via Microsoft Teams.

NOTE:  The Absorb training system has been updated to allow providers to register for trainings and/or forums more than once.

Housing Services - clone

OBH recognizes that access to safe, decent, and affordable housing is a medical necessity for many persons with disabilities. Independent housing vouchers deliver real therapeutic value; promote consumer empowerment; support both civil and disability rights; and are demonstrated to be radically cost effective when compared to high cost, high intensity, institutionalized care.  OBH administers the following two housing programs:

10-144 C.M.R. Ch. 609, Food Supplement Employment and Training (FSET): SNAP E&T#6P -Name Change and Other Clarifications

        The proposed rule would update the program name and references to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program  Employment and Training Program (SNAP E&T) from FSET to reflect recent updates for the SNAP program. These changes are consistent with the terminology used in federal law, state laws, and regulation. Further, P.L. 2021 c. 398 Part OO made this change throughout Maine's revised statutes.
