Seasonal Public Water Systems are water systems that operate for only a portion of the calendar year. These systems generally shut down at the end of each operating season. Examples include campgrounds, country clubs, sporting lodges and camps, marinas, golf courses, and ski areas.
A 'municipal water system' (a.k.a., a water utility) is an organization engaged in furnishing water to the public within a municipal or regional division - specifically, water for household or drinking purposes and fire suppression. Usually, these utilities are owned and operated by either local (municipal) government agencies or quasi-autonomous corporations governed by a board of trustees, although private utilities do exist.
Trainings and resources help providers increase their knowledge and confidence in managing the needs of children and youth with special health care needs. They also help family knowledge and ability to advocate for their child’s needs. Trainings include virtual “live” webinars and pre-recorded, “on demand” training opportunities.
Strong partnerships between a family and health professionals is essential for effective services. This framework focuses on the importance of collaboration, mutual respect, and shared decision-making. Families bring valuable expertise about their needs, while professionals contribute knowledge and resources. A partnership model helps programs and services be more responsive, inclusive, and better aligned with the unique needs of families.
Vendors are strongly encouraged to stock as many varieties of WIC-approved foods as possible. If possible, make the following items available upon request: Infant meats, other infant formulas, tuna, pink salmon, sardines, tofu, whole wheat/whole grain pasta, tortillas, oatmeal, brown rice, 15‐16 oz. canned beans, dry beans, lentils, peas, soy beverage, lactose-free milk, non‐fat dry milk, 2% reduced-fat milk, low-fat and nonfat yogurt.
