Overview: Maine CDC is collaborating with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and The Ratelle STD/HIV Prevention Training Center to offer a one-hour webinar for health care providers. The Resurgence of syphilis infections has resulted in congenital syphilis re-appearing in Maine. During this webinar, we review Maine syphilis epidemiology, recent changes in syphilis management guidelines, and clinical pearls, especially as they pertain to the management of pregnant individuals and infants.

Speakers:

  1. Dr. Katherine Hsu: The Medical Director for the Division of STD Prevention & HIV/AIDS Surveillance, Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and the Director of the Ratelle STD/HIV Prevention Training Center. She is also a Professor of Pediatrics and Attending Physician in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Boston University Medical Center. 
  2. Dena Bushman MSN, MPH: The Medical Director for the STD, TB, Viral Hepatitis Programs at Maine CDC. She also is a nurse practitioner and sees patients and precepts learners at the City of Portland STD Clinic.
  3. Emily Cason MPH: STD/HIV Surveillance Epidemiologist at Maine CDC
  4. Marissa Paul MPH: Disease Intervention Specialist Supervisor at Maine CDC
