Maine has a network of CareerCenters across the state that assist employers of all sizes with recruiting, hiring, training, workforce services, and access to labor market information.

Free job posting and recruitment service run by the Maine Department of Labor. Employers can post jobs and be matched with job seekers that fit their needs.

Maine Department of Labor’s Employer Resource Guide

Resources and services available to help you manage, grow, and develop your workforce in Maine, including hiring checklists, recruiting assistance, information about hiring foreign workers, and more.

Bureau of Rehabilitation Services (BRS)

BRS works to advance employment for people with disabilities and can help connect businesses with potential employees, provide customized training programs, and advise on financial incentives and supports for hiring and accommodating people with disabilities.

Rapid Response Program- Department of Labor (PDF)

This program works with employers and workers to minimize the impact of layoffs. Businesses can be listed as a potential employer for displaced employees, which can help a company fill workforce needs while doing good for the community.

University of Maine CareerLink

Post jobs and internships, advertise on-campus interviews, and recruit students in the UMaine system. The UMaine Career Center is available to help employers connect with students and use the CareerLink site.

Boots2Roots

Boots2Roots is an organization that helps active duty military service members and veterans transition to civilian life in Maine, especially by helping them find meaningful employment. Employers interested in hiring from these groups should reach out to the Boots2Roots team.

Workforce Training and Development

Maine CareerCenters

Maine has a network of CareerCenters across the state that assist employers of all sizes with training workers to ensure that the workforce is equipped to meet their needs.

Global U: Practical Skills Training

MITC offers training videos and seminars to help businesses develop their employees’ skills to help the company succeed in exporting to international markets.

Maine Apprenticeship Program (MAP)

Employers can sponsor apprenticeship programs in partnership with the Department of Labor to develop a workforce pipeline tailored to the specific needs of the company. DoL provides development assistance and other resources to employers in the program.

Maine Quality Centers Program (MQCP)

MQCP partners with employers to provide grants to fund workforce training for new or current employees. Training is administered by one of Maine’s community colleges. One-on-one advising is available to help employers tailor training programs to their specific needs.

Safety and Education Training Program (SafetyWorks!)

Customized health and safety training, site evaluation, and technical support to help employers reduce injuries, illness, and worker’s compensation costs—all free of charge.

Professional Development Programs (PDP) at the University of Southern Maine

Offers customized training programs for businesses to train their workforce, as well as workshops, online courses, and certificate programs for individual development.

Central Western Maine Workforce Development Board (CWMWDB)

Provides workforce development and recruitment assistance to businesses in Androscoggin, Franklin, Kennebec, Oxford, and Somerset counties.

Coastal Counties Workforce, Inc. (CCWI)

Provides free workforce training needs assessments and workforce development services to businesses in Cumberland, Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc, Waldo, and York counties.

Northeastern Workforce Development Board (NWDB)

Works with employers to identify workforce training needs, partners with educators to provide the necessary training, and helps connect newly skilled workers with employers in Aroostook, Hancock, Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Washington counties.

Innovate for Maine

UMaine internship program that partners with Maine companies to provide summer fellowships to help students develop innovation and entrepreneurship skills while advancing the growth of companies and helping build a talented labor pool for Maine companies.
