Range: Nova Scotia and southern Quebec to Minnesota and South Dakota, south to Florida and Texas.

Synonyms: Represented in Maine and New England by ssp. obtusum. Synonyms include Galium obtusum Bigelow var. ramosum Gleason; Galium trifidum L. var. latifolium Torr.
