Farmer Drought Relief Grant Program
In August of 2022, Governor Mills signed legislation establishing the Maine Farmer Drought Relief Grant Program to support Maine farmers in identifying and accessing new water sources to overcome the adverse effects of drought conditions. The rules governing this grant program will be developed in 2024.
Applications are not expected to open until Fall 2024 at the earliest. Potential applicants can stay informed on the development of the funding opportunity via the DACF Grants Gov Delivery list by entering their email address in the ‘Receive Grants News’ box on the right of this page.
Farmers seeking alternative funding options for irrigation and water access are encouraged to DACF by email at michelle.t.webb@maine.gov to discuss other potential funding sources.
