Maine's Low Cost Spay/Neuter Program (Help Fix ME)
The Help Fix ME Program (HFM) distributes applications to qualified individuals who can’t afford to spay or neuter their dogs or cats. You may be able to participate in the HFM program if you receive or are eligible for one of the following programs:
- Food Stamps
- Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Social Security Disability (SSDI)
Large mixed breed and pitbull mix dogs only. No small, purebred or designer breed dogs.
How to Apply
- Check for a local Participating Veterinarians (PDF)
- Read Application Instructions (PDF)
- Submit the following items by mail:
- Completed Application (PDF)
- Copay $10 per cat, $20 per dog. Large mixed breed dogs only.
- Current Benefits letter from a qualifying program (SNAP, TANF, SSI, SSDI)
