About Us
The Bureau of Human Resources provides leadership in human resource management for the agencies and departments within the Executive Branch of State Government. In addition to administering Civil Service Law and merit system principles, the Bureau is responsible for establishing and maintaining job classification specifications, staff training and organizational development, recruitment, and administering employee benefits including employee Safety and Wellness, and the state employee Workers' Compensation Program.
The Bureau is also responsible for advising and representing managers in Executive Branch agencies and departments in labor relations and other employment issues. Included are collective bargaining and administration of collective bargaining agreements, and administration of the state's Equal Employment Opportunity program and other civil rights activities.
