What should I do?
Other than attend scheduled examinations, you don't need to do anything while your claim is being reviewed unless the VA sends you a letter, saying it needs more information. Requests for additional information could include:
- A need for more medical information, which may be in the form of a request for additional documents
- A request from the VA to schedule one or more examinations for you to assess the disabilities you claimed, such as joint, lung, or mental conditions
Please make every effort to attend an exam requested by the VA, even if you feel that you have provided sufficient evidence to support your claim(s). Failure to participate in a VA-requested exam could cause your claim to be delayed, if not denied outright.
