Governor Mills Appoints Scott Houde as York County Probate Court Judge

“”Governor Janet Mills today appointed Scott Houde of Biddeford as York County Judge of Probate. Houde will serve the remainder of Judge Bryan Chabot’s term, who resigned earlier this year for a position on the Maine Workers’ Compensation Board.

“Scott Houde is a well-respected, experienced probate attorney who has dedicated much of his life to serving the people of York County,”said Governor Mills. “I am confident that Scott’s compassion, devotion to fairness, and commitment to the rule of law will serve the people of Maine well.”

Houde, 46, a native of Biddeford, has practiced probate, family and criminal law in Biddeford for more than 14 years, first as an Associate at Woodman Edmands Danylik & Austin PA and then at his own firm, the Law Office of Scott M. Houde. Houde previously served as president and board member of the York Bar Association and has been a member of the York Bar Association for his entire career. Houde graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration with honors from the University of New Hampshire Whittemore School of Business and Economics, an M.B.A. with honors from the University of Southern Maine, and with his J.D. from the University of Maine School of Law.
