Governor Mills to Deliver State of the Budget Address on February 11th

Augusta, MAINE – Governor Janet Mills announced today that she has accepted an invitation from Senate President Troy Jackson and House Speaker Sara Gideon to deliver the State of the Budget address to a joint convention of the Maine House and Senate on February 11, 2019 at 7:00 P.M.

In her remarks Governor Mills will update the Legislature on the actions taken by her Administration during her first month in office, highlight major initiatives within her biennial budget proposal, and present her vision for the state.

“This is a pivotal moment for Maine. The Administration and the Legislature have the opportunity to work together to address the serious challenges facing our state and to shape a brighter future for Maine people,” said Governor Mills. “I look forward to sharing my vision for the future with the Legislature. It is time to begin the important conversations and public debate which will shape better public policy for our state.”

Governor Mills’ proposal for the biennial budget is due February 8, 2019 according to state statute. She will address both the House and Senate in the Maine state House chamber on February 11, 2019 at 7:00 P.M.
