Substance Use and Behavioral Health

Understanding the data related to a public health topics, including substance use and behavioral health areas, are key to identifying areas of concern, determining where to focus efforts, and how best to make improvements.

The State Epidemiological Outcomes Workgroup (SEOW) serves as a clearinghouse for Maine substance use and mental health related data. The Maine CDC lead workgroup has created this site with dashboards, fact sheets, and resources to assist prevention professions in making data driven decisions.

Immunization

The Maine Immunization Program (MIP) strives to ensure full protection of all Maine children and adults from vaccine-preventable disease. Through cooperative partnerships with public and private health practitioners and community members, the MIP provides vaccine, comprehensive education and technical assistance, vaccine-preventable disease tracking and outbreak control, accessible population-based management tools, and compassionate support services that link individuals into comprehensive health care systems.

Sexually Transmitted Diseases

The Maine STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease) Program is a federally funded state program responsible for activities pertaining to the reportable STDs: chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. Additionally, the STD program works closely with the HIV/AIDS Programs to assist with specific follow-up activities related to HIV and AIDS.

Diseases

Maine CDC works to strengthen the State's capacity to prevent and respond to emerging infectious disease, reduce chronic disease risk factors, and monitors and provides information on animal-borne and vector-borne diseases. Find data and reports on the following pages.
