Apple Scab—Venturia inaequalis
Apple scab is caused by a fungus which overwinters in infected dead leaves and fruit. The scab-like lesions on leaves and fruit can cause defoliation and will reduce fruit quantity and quality.
Olive-colored irregular lesions on sepals and leaves appear in late spring and later become gray to black and velvety in appearance.
Roughly circular spots disfigure fruit.
