Bureau of Motor Vehicles offices to move back into main building in Augusta

AUGUSTA ? The roof replacement at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles? main office building in Augusta is now complete and offices will be moved back in this week. Staff members who worked on the second floor of the BMV main office at 101 Hospital St. have been working out of the Marquardt building, across the street at 32 Blossom Lane, during the roofing work this summer.

No disruption in services to the public is expected while the staff members return to the main building, as the move will be completed in phases. All sections of the BMV main office are expected to be back in the 101 Hospital St. building by Friday, Sept. 4.

The Registration and Titling section will be moving in two groups, on Sept. 2 and 3. On Wednesday, Sept. 2, the front desk at Marquardt will be open at 8 a.m. and will close once all Registration offices have been moved. The front desk at BMV should be ready for operation by mid-morning. The Dealer and Agent Services staff moved back on Monday and are now located on the first floor.

The main office move will not affect services at the BMV branch office at 19 Anthony Ave., Augusta, where registrations, plates, driver licenses and state identification cards can be obtained, as well as disability placards and dealer temporary plates.
