Caribou Motor Vehicle Office will Close on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 to Relocate
The office will move from 159 Bennett Drive in Caribou to 14 Access Highway in Caribou.

Augusta – To provide better service and accessibility to customers in the Caribou area, the Bureau of Motor Vehicles will relocate to newly renovated office space at 14 Access Highway in Caribou. The office will be closed on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 during the move and will reopen for business at 8:00 a.m. Thursday, December 16, 2010 at the new location.

"The current office is too small to effectively serve the public, and given the number of customers that we serve in Northern Maine, this new facility is a vast improvement and cost-effective as well," Dunlap said. "We have to keep our resources in mind when developing improved services, and I think the public will be impressed by the value we're receiving in this office setting."

The new location will offer:

  • convenient access, parking, and visibility to the public;
  • improved lobby space and accessibility for customers;
  • a Help Desk located in the lobby area to improve customer service;
    upgraded building security;
  • energy efficient building systems; and,
  • adequate restrooms for customers.
