When information is received that a licensee may have engaged in conduct which is a ground for disciplinary action, the Board has the power to investigate. Depending on the results of the investigation, it may: find that there is no merit to the complaint or report and dismiss the matter; invite the licensee and complainant to attend an informal conference; enter into a consent agreement with the licensee; hold a hearing, or impose discipline allowed by 10 M.R.S.A. sec. 8003 and 32 M.R.S.A. sec. 2591-A, which may include suspension or revocation. The Board may also issue non-disciplinary letters of guidance.
