Physician Assistant Advisory Committee
Staff: Timothy Terranova (287-6930)
The Physician Assistant Advisory Committee (committee) was created by the Board of Licensure in Medicine and the Board of Osteopathic Licensure before there were any physician assistant members of those boards. The Legislature has since authorized the appointment of two physician assistant members to each of those boards, which affords direct input by those physician assistants regarding any issues considered by the boards.
Therefore, members to the committee shall not be appointed until such a time as the committee is activated pursuant to Board request. If the committee is called to order, each Board shall appoint 2 physician assistants and one physician all actively licensed with that Board.
A roster of licensees interested in being appointed to the committee shall be maintained. Anyone interested in having their name placed on the roster shall:
- Provide a letter of Interest
- Provide a resume or CV
- Have practiced in Maine for at least 2 years
- Be in active clinical practice
- Have no significant disciplinary history
- Have no open complaints at the time the committee is appointed
Interested licensees can forward their letter of interest and resume or CV to Medicine.PFR@maine.gov.
