The Maine State Police and Windham Police Department held a Press Conference this evening at 7:30 PM at the Windham Central Fire Station. Windham Police responded to a shots-fired complaint on Route 302.
A male was located who sustained injuries in the shooting. First responders and bystanders attempted life-saving measures, but the male was pronounced deceased at the scene. The suspect fled the area, and local, county, and state police were involved in the search for the gunman. The Windham Police Department issued a shelter-in-place alert to residents. State Police located the suspect and lifted the shelter-in-place. Currently, there is no further danger to the public.
