Application and Fees

All Applications can be completed online through our Maine Educator Information System (MEIS).  Please see instructions below. 


How to Prepare to Apply
  • Review your official transcript to see if there is a note regarding the approved program you completed. If you do not see anything on the transcript regarding this, please be prepared to submit a verification of approved program form. This form can be here
  • If applying for an endorsement, please be familiar with each endorsement code.  Those can be found under "Certification Requirements" on the left hand side of the page.  
  • If you have sent in transcripts previously, they do not need to be sent in again unless you have updated or new transcripts.  
  • All other documentation such as test scores, contact hours, etc. can also be uploaded as PDF documents during the application process. 
  • If you have transcripts from colleges outside the United States, you must submit a foreign transcript course by course evaluation completed by a company who is a current member of NACES as shown on their website (www.naces.org/members.html).
  • Note for Career and Technical Education teachers & school nurses: You must send a resume of paid work experience related to your endorsement area. The resume must include dates, number of years/weeks in the position and descriptions of work experience.
