Each SAU must complete a Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CNA) in order to receive federal funds and each Title I schoolwide program must have schoolwide plans. The Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CNA) and School-Level Plans are consolidated into one template and is the only needs assessment required by Maine DOE. For schools identified under Maine's Model of School Support, the school-level plan template also meets TSI, ATSI, and CSI requirements.
The intent of the consolidated CNA/Schoolwide Plan is to create alignment between district and school goals, prevent the duplication of work and reporting to Maine DOE, and to create a purposeful and meaningful approach to leverage state, local, and federal funding.
