Voice and Choice

Letting students have a voice in what and how they learn provides an opportunity for them to see themselves in their curriculum.  Not only does this increase engagement, but it also gives students a strong context for their learning that helps scaffold new learning.  When students have that strong context, they can start applying their learning in real and meaningful situations.
