Maine Outdoor Learning Initiative 2024:
The Maine Outdoor Learning Initiative was expanded into 2024. The program focused on providing access to the outdoors for grades 6-12 and increased eligibility for schools and local educational providers throughout the state. The application window was from December 1st to January 12th, 2024, with programs running from mid-winter until September 1st, 2024.
American Rescue Plan Act GEER, Reverted EANS Funding received from the USDOE support the implementation of this project. The project has an award totaling $6.6 million dollars of which 100% is federally funded and directly attributed to project implementation.
