Payment Portal Instructions for Site Law Applications
Maine DEP can accept online credit card payments through a Credit Card Payment Portal. Please note: The portal can only accept credit card payments of $1,000 or less; however, there is no limit on payments by electronic check. Also, the servicer of the portal charges a $2 transaction fee. See the Payment Portal for more details.
While the application fee (which includes the combined processing fee and licensing fee) for most new Site Location of Development Law (Site Law) applications exceeds the credit card payment limit, some Site Law applicants may select this payment option. An applicant seeking a minor revision, minor amendment, condition compliance, or permit transfer are among those who may elect to pay the application fee by credit card.
Applicants paying a Site Law application fee by credit card will be presented the following three option within the dropdown menu at the payment portal:
- Site Location of Development Law - Subdivision
- Site Location of Development Law - Industrial
- Site Location of Development Law - All Other
