Maine Office of Cannabis Policy Expands Nova Farms Product Recall

The expanded recall involves additional pre-ground adult use cannabis flower, pre-rolls, and blunts sold between August 30, 2024, and October 14, 2024

AUGUSTA, Maine – The Maine Office of Cannabis Policy (OCP) is today expanding a health and safety recall for adult use cannabis and cannabis products produced by Nova Farms. The original recall issued on October 11, 2024, involved pre-ground adult use cannabis flower, pre-rolls, and blunts of the strain “Frosted Cookies”. The expanded recall involves additional pre-ground adult use cannabis flower, pre-rolls, and blunts of the strain “Frosted Cookies” as well as pre-ground flower of the strain “Frozay”.

The products affected by the original recall were sold at 14 adult use cannabis retail stores. Nine additional stores located in Auburn, Bethel, Bridgton, Eliot, Gardiner, Lewiston, Portland, and Waterville sold products affected by the expanded recall. For a full list of retail stores involved in this recall, please visit https://www.maine.gov/dafs/ocp/recalls/nova-farms-10-2024

As part of an ongoing investigation into data irregularities between mandatory test results reported to OCP and subsequent audit testing conducted by the Office, the products are being recalled due to audit testing that identified unsafe levels of Microbials (aerobic bacteria and Enterobacteriaceae) and Yeast and Mold. Consumers who purchased these products should return them to the retailer or dispose of them. Any consumer who has ingested these products and is experiencing symptoms or adverse reactions should contact their physician immediately.

All adult use cannabis is required to have a label affixed to the package that indicates the product’s batch number. Consumers should check the label of their pre-ground flower, pre-rolls, or blunts for the batch numbers listed below under “Product Information”.

This expanded recall affects the following products sold in Maine between August 30, 2024, and October 14, 2024:
